Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara
The year was 2008. The indie pop band Tegan and Sara, made up of two queer twin sisters, were on the verge of music superstardom. The internet, a relatively new way for fans to find each other and connect, was helping to propel a rabid community around Tegan and Sarah and their music. But suddenly, things got dark. Tegan was the victim of an elaborate identity theft that upended her entire life, and a catfishing scheme that threatened to destroy everything everything they had worked for. In this documentary, Tegan and Sara are going public with their story--and their quest to find answers--for the first time.
